Senior Information Technology Officer - Aswan

Position Objectives: The IT Senior Officer will play the leading role in the design, installation, maintenance and administration of the Microsoft Windows based Networking & Systems in Om Habibeh Foundation and Aga Khan Foundation. Ensure availability of IT services at all times for all employees. Maintain Standard Operational Procedures and the smooth operation of the IT function across the Organization and provides IT support for all Organization staff. The IT Officer will provide user assistance in the definition and development of required business applications. Main Responsibilities: Network Administration Install / Administer / Monitor / Troubleshoot Network Related Systems / Software / Computer Equipments and promptly resolve network connectivity problems on the local area network in Aswan and Cairo offices. Assist with procurement of IT equipment in coordination with Admin & Finance Dept. and keep on hand adequate inventory of IT supplies. Interact with Computer Users. Manage IT Assets including Hardware, Network and Software. Assist in I.T. budget preparation and follow-up of budget, the capital projects and operational expenses. Maintain computer networks and databases including security and server back-up operations and execute Systems Backup and recovery, and other routine operations. Provide I.T. support to AKF,E as required. IT Coordination Oversee service and maintenance of IT-related equipment; and configuration of networking equipment (e.g., routers, switches); Download latest antivirus updates and scan computer systems for viruses on a regular basis Assist users to effectively use computers, printers and scanners – logging onto the network, using email and operating Microsoft Office software Resolves any IT-related problems as raised by the staff across the organization, and provides IT support for all Foundation's staff Ensures that all contingency plans and controls of the IT applications are operative and regularly updated. Ensures that all installed programs are operating smoothly across the Foundation through regular verification, checking and debugging to eliminate any accidents. Ensures that backups are made according to OHF standards and procedures at the end of every working day to avoid any risk of loss, sabotage or destruction of data. Trains the Foundation's personnel on the proper use of the IT applications Installs new PCs and computer applications as needed. System requirements analysis and implementation Assists users in defining application requirements Assists in identifying and evaluating potential solutions Assists/leads application systems implementation. As appropriate identifies engages external development resources Liaison with the IT team in Geneva,Regular communication with GVA IT staff to ensure: Standards and best practices are discussed and followed Appropriate procedures and policies exist and are aligned with AKF and AKDN Support escalation procedures are in place for Geneva hosted systems used by OHF and AKF,E An effective two way dialogue is maintained with IT GVA when implementing major projects and initiatives
