Heavy Maintenance Manager

Maintenance engineers’ work involves checking, repairing and servicing machinery, Equipment, systems and infrastructures. Work typically involves: Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance Responding to breakdowns Repairing equipment Supervising engineering and technical staff Obtaining specialist components, fixtures or fittings Managing budgets, monitoring and controlling maintenance costs Maintaining statistical and financial records Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation Creating maintenance procedures Managing stocks of supplies and equipment. Fitting new parts and making sure equipment is working correctly Carrying out quality inspections on jobs Liaising with client departments, customers and other engineering and production colleagues Designing maintenance strategies, procedures and methods Diagnosing breakdown problems Arranging specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components Controlling maintenance tools, stores and equipment Dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs Improving health and safety policies and procedures Writing maintenance strategies to help with installation and commissioning guidelines Ensuring there is continuous cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns.
