Works with and collaborates extensively with design staff, engineering and field crews to ensure accuracy and completeness of data. Maintains connectivity and integrity of utility's geometric networks. Independently coordinates data collection projects. Collect field data using GPS equipment. Creates geoprocessing models and scripts as necessary to facilitate tasks. Creates and maintains professional maps and other information products as requested. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: Provides technical support and training for users of the utility's enterprise GIS and other software. SUPERVISORY DUTIES: Assists in the preparation of task assignments. May lead on task assignments related to field of specialization. Knowledge, skills and abilities: Working knowledge of editing GIS data with current version of Esri's ArcGIS. Knowledge of editing geometric networks. Knowledge of editing in a versioned geodatabase environment. Ability to read and interpret utility construction plans. Skilled in the use of GIS data in the creation of professional maps and other information products. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Core competencies: Accountability, Collaboration, Courtesy and kindness, Innovation, Integrity, Safety, Service Job specific competencies: Problem solving, Project management, Data entry, Communication, Technical knowledge Education and/or experience: Associates degree in GIS, civil engineering technology or related field required. Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, civil engineering or a related field desired. GIS certification desired. Five (5) years of working experience using ArcGIS software is required. One (1) year of working experience editing an ArcFM geodatabase is desired. One (1) year of working experience reading and interpreting construction plans is desired. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may substitute for education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
