Maintenance Planner

Inspect and estimate jobs that are candidates for planning or scheduling. Utilize CMMS/EAM, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Projects to enter, retrieve, and communicate the various planning and scheduling information and parts ordering. Determine the scope, craft, personnel, tools, parts, and equipment needs of each job and document this job plan as a means of reducing delays to the maintenance activities. Develop stored plans for equipment, based on criticality, frequency, and historical costs. Assemble job boxes that contain the documentation, parts, and tools required by the maintenance personnel to complete the job without delays. Communicate effectively with operations and maintenance personnel orally, written, and electronically to determine priorities, available personnel, and schedules. Schedule and lead weekly scheduling meetings for each area of the plant. Work from blueprints, factory manuals, written specifications, sketches, oral instructions, and personal knowledge of the work being performed to plan and schedule effectively. Work with other maintenance planner(s) to distribute the planning and scheduling work load to best meet the needs of operations and maintenance. Coordinate with other planner(s) to provide coverage during sickness and vacation to avoid interruption of planning and scheduling activities. Analyze significant differences between estimated and actual work hours, materials, and equipment and determine if standards for time, materials, or equipment should be revised to reflect these differences. Follow all applicable safety rules and use all safety equipment as designated.
